GP leaders suggest new 'virtual' practice model to retain doctors

I think GP chambers is the way to go, it can provide a buffer from overwhelming demand and protect our working conditions. Soon there will not be sufficient GPs to staff practices (or nurses). Many practices will have to provide primary care without the benefit of GPs. Healthcare staff will have to prioritise patients and set up special sessions that GPs from chambers are invited to work in. A GP chambers may have to cover several practices that have no permanent GP working there. Such areas would also have to develop walk in centres to deal with acute illness with ANPs, but no GPs on site. #thirdworldmedicine - that's what we've got to look forward to.
