GPs asked to help trusts cut long hospital stays by 25% before winter


Ok we’ll spell it out for the 100th time-lots of elderly get admitted because they can’t cope and have no one to look after them. I can’t look after them because I’m too busy to stay with them 24 hours a day, I’ve got other patients. So unless someone else can, they need to go to hospital. When they get to hospital, they can’t get sent home (see dilemma above). The missing piece is good quality community care- but some silly billy has decimated district nursing, general practice and social services! What a pickle
