Half of Scottish GP practices have access to a pharmacist, says Government

"...we would like to see significantly more practices benefitting from pharmacist and pharmacy technician time, which will allow GPs to free up time..." That might be possible if the good ones could be cloned! The reality for many practices is that the pharmacy person spends hours doing very little of benefit to anyone then hands the GPs big lists of things to check, which can take hours even though much of it is trivial queries scraped from the bottom of the barrel to show how busy they have been. Seems to cynical me like a solution to the over-production of pharmacists.
