Quarter of extended GP appointments unfilled as policy rolls out nationally

Opportunity cost is massive for this vanity project. We would be able to buy 50% more in hours appointments, perhaps with a regular sessional GP, than we can get for unpopular extended hours shifts. This is a scandalous waste or resources, yet the alternative is accepting no extra funding, further stressing our appointment capacity. If the government want our elderly patients to see tired GPs at 7:30pm, so be it.
