New medical school set to offer early exposure to general practice

Comment

Has anyone else noticed the elephant in the room here- the course is only 4 years long? So, to ensure that general practise gets a prominent billing, what other areas have been short-changed? As a first year medical student, one typically has a limited ability to assess if what they are being exposed to demonstrates good quality stuff or not.I'm not sure the end result of this course structure will be what is desired-unless the aim is to increase the supply of doctors to those overseas destinations which are still in need of GPs, and value them more than here in the UK.
