Overdiagnosis: how ministers and the NHS are fuelling a rising epidemic

The thing that concerns me more is the overdiagnosis of conditions like ADHD, ME, depression and other conditions that have no definitive test. Note I say "overdiagnosis" before I am accused of not understanding or empathizing with these very real disorders. But patients now decide they have these based on their internet research and come in with a sense of entitlement and are dismissive of any "watch and wait" approach by the GP. And don't get me started on diverticulosis- how many patients have these picked up, probably incidentally, on their colonoscopy and then every future stomach grumble is blamed on them.....
