Practice pharmacists and nurses in ‘turf war’ due to ambiguous job roles, report claims

although of value they can only do so much and refer on to the GP anyway . what we need is more experienced GPs. The RCGP should be leading and defining what roles each group of workers should be providing and minimum standards of competency when taking over GP roles. otherwise its a complete mess. who are all these extra staff going to refer to when all the GPs have left? apart from midwives most of them don't have experience of the buck stopping with them and taking on all the responsibility for everything that they do. it will just lead to more over investigating and more A^E referrals. it will cost far more than just giving GPs a pay rise and sorting out the pensions debacle. short term gain leading to a long term disaster.
