Incidentaloma on the rise: how GPs are left to manage unexpected findings


The best book that describes how this came about is "Overdiagnosed: Making People Sick in the pursuit of Health" by Gilbert Welch. It should be a compulsory read for all journalists spouting their human interest stories, NHS executives, health administrators and CCGs.
