Doc | GP Partner/Principal24 Jul 2019 8:36pm Ivan Benett- though what u add is correct- “ health” doesn’t address this.... see Black report etc...... social changes do!!!! I agree (mostly). I don't say GPs should do it all, of course not. Most of the 'investment' should be through public health measures which include societal changes. But GPs should do our bit. Our main influence is in secondary prevention. Unfortunately the rule of halves still exists, we don't manage long term conditions optimally. My point though, was to say that diseases are preventable. I wasn't saying who should prevent them.
