Longer GP appointments needed to ensure proper mental health care, says RCGP

Comment

should be min of 30 min appts for mental health issues but really we need the secondary referral system to function at a higher capacity level, especially with CAMS. having recently done a days locum where over half the appointments were mental health issues its stressful enough but knowing there is limited support for those patients is a management nightmare. So glad I only have 2 years to go. feel so sorry for those coming into GP. as for the RCGP they should just say we do 15 min appointments as standard - end of, max 10 patients in a surgery. stop talking and actually take action for once. this continuance to do nothing is driving people like me out of the NHS for ever.
