Local banks of GPs working 'flexibly' to be set up across England

I can see some benefits, eg death in service and the potential for pay for sick leave. Holiday leave would be a given, but would it be at the EU-mandated minimum (before Brexit really kicks in) or would it be on no less favourable terms than the BMA's salaried model contract? Engaging the services of a sole trader (who is in the NHS pension scheme) this way would just lead to additional overheads from Employers' NI and a reduction in income, though perhaps for the possibility of guaranteed work. Would a locum choose this path? Has anyone asked one?
