It reminds me of a patient I saw many years ago. He had severe pain in his hands and other sites for which we could find no explanation. He was eventually diagnosed as seronegative RA and after a year or more started to show changes in his joints. He did respond to standard treatment at the time (gold) and the pain eventually improved. Difficult at the time though.
