Election is a chance for change - but I won't hold my breath

About two years into my GP career, I did a self-audit (c.2002 I'm talking about) of a morning's surgery and realised that a nurse could have done about 80% of what I had done that morning. That's when I realised that GP was sunk. Everything from then onwards has been a mix of cardyism and the emperors new clothes. GP does not really have a raison d'etre. The politicians or at least the peopleadvising them have known this for ages too
