Saturday cover confusion

A PCT has rejected claims it told GPs new out-of-hours arrangements would not cover Saturday mornings.

Suffolk West PCT said its position was 'consistent with the national position' that Saturdays count as out-of-hours.

Mark Crawley, director of modernisation and primary care, said a conversation had been 'misconstrued'.

He added: 'We perfectly accept that it does include Saturday mornings as it says in the contract.'
