Sex at 12 a child protection issue

Am I the only Pulse reader to see the irony in the headlines 'GPs should step up child protection role' and 'Sex starts at 12 for some' in the same issue this week?

In suggesting that 'GPs need to accept the need to provide condoms to children', Shandip Shah, chief executive of Fusion condoms, appears more concerned about his profits than the welfare of children.

GPs should rather accept the need to discuss all cases of children known to be having sex at 12 with local child protection services.
