Shrewd newcomer's guide to settling in

campaign comment

This week we launch a new campaign – the Pulse Manifesto for General Practice. It will focus on the issues that you say matter most to you as GPs. The campaign is our reaction to the disturbing response of more than 1,000 of you to our Agenda 2005 survey.

Clear themes emerged from the results. You told us that professional freedom and trust were under siege. You expressed fury over injustices in pay and workload. You warned of the need for urgent action over inadequate premises and destructive pension reforms.

We are now acting on your concerns. In the run-up to the general election, we will take the manifesto directly to politicians to ensure they are aware of the issues that matter to you. And after the election we will continue to press the incoming Government to take action.

The more support you give us, the greater the impact we can achieve. So tell us your views. And please take a few minutes to pledge your support. It's your manifesto. Let's make it work.
