So much for pension 'experts'

Like most GPs I was more than a little disturbed to hear our esteemed Health Secretary come out with such arrant rubbish as his claim that we now all enjoy 14-minute consultations (News, January 22).

It should be pointed out that with departure to the colonies of our present Westminster MP, we in Airdrie are to have the esteemed minister as our prospective candidate.

As Airdrie is one of the safest Labour seats in the country, we hope for your sympathy if he represents us as well as he pontificates on subjects on which he knows nothing.

Don't all politicians do that all the time? W.S. Gilbert wasn't wrong when he wrote about 'the ruler of the Queen's Navy'. Nothing changes.
