Stop abuse by solicitors

Solicitors certainly should be barred from routinely obtaining full medical records (News, November 3). There is an opportunity for the BMA to say something useful here, but of course it won't!

How about making it necessary to convince a magistrate that the whole record is needed ­ this would stop the abuse almost totally.
