Stop completing workplace forms until fees are revised

I would be grateful for colleagues' views on the forms sent out by the Department of Work and Pensions for DLA reports (DLA370). I feel the fee of £17 is well below the true worth. The department is obviously having problems getting accurate information from GPs and feels this new form will be the answer.

Earlier this year I wrote to the department and its reply clearly stated there will be no review of the fee, which has been the same for about four years.

The only way we can get the department to shift on this fee is to stop completing the forms until the fees are revised.

As this form is not part of the present terms of service, we are not obliged to complete it. The department will need to ask its own doctors to do the work.

I have a standard letter I send when I do not wish to complete the work, and there has never been any problems when I have done this.
