DH reveals plans for new patient survey

07 Nov 08

The Department of Health has revealed further details about the new GP patient survey, which will run quarterly from next April.

The DH has commissioned Ipsos MORI to update and conduct the expanded survey, which will ask patients a wider range of questions on new areas such as experience of out of hours services.

Patients will also be quizzed on how clean their GP practice is, and how they are treated by reception staff.

Under the Government’s revised plans for the survey, GPs will no longer be rewarded with QOF points for taking part in the quarterly PCT access survey, with all survey duties now taken on by Ipsos-MORI as part of the GP Patient Survey.
