08 Jun 09

Bone mineral density between mothers and daughters is strongly correlated, according to a study by Japanese researchers.

Age, BMD, height, body weight, and lifestyles were studied in 387 mother and daughter pairs.

Results showed BMD of daughters was significantly related to BMD of their mothers, as was their height, body weight, and intensity of exercise.
