Tsar sets out GP role in cardiac care

Who the hell do these Labour MPs think they are (News, January 29)? They sit there pontificating about things they know nothing about their only qualifications being a big gob blaming GPs for everything they can think of. They make me sick.

How can that buffoon on the Public Accounts Committee say GPs are at fault for failing to diagnose cancer effectively when, for example, their super-dooper NICE comes up with guidelines that will probably lead to more cancers being missed.

Then we get complaints from other members of the buffoon fraternity that we are referring too much, especially to cancer services. All this from people who think nothing about wasting money hand over fist on harebrained schemes like Choose and Book.

There are a lot of serious problems in the health service that I would like to see solved, like for instance the poor young chap who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October but had to wait three months for surgery and is still waiting for chemotherapy.

Perhaps these political morons should examine the proper issues in the health service rather than trying to con the public with their ridiculous and cynical spin. As long as the NHS is run by fools like these then it will never be any good.

It's about time that we as a profession told them to get stuffed rather than trying to appease them and help them ruin the service. Thank God I am near retirement.
