At the heart of general practice since 1960

Vaccinating children a benefit for all

I read Jim Goodman's letter

(8 October) regarding the diagnostic abilities of younger doctors with astonishment.

Having qualified in 1996 I am not sure whether I would be included within Dr Goodman's category of younger doctors, but I would be very interested to know on what basis he made this enormous generalisation.

We all learn from experience and this letter makes me wonder whether Dr Goodman has forgotten about areas of uncertainty he must have had in the past.

As a final thought, I just hope his practice is not about to advertise for a new partner or salaried GP as I can't see this statement improving their chances of appointing the right candidate.
