Very safe record for chiropractic

The General Chiropractic Council is not a little perturbed by Professor Edzard Ernst's opinion (Features, September 15) that 'there is insufficient evidence to show chiropractic is safe'. How safe does it have to be compared with, for example, riding a bike?

For the record, there have been

no known chiropractic-associated patient deaths in the UK in the past 75 years.
