  • Unfortunately none of this seems to make it to national press. Only this week there was another Daily Fail article banging on about how much GPs are overpaid since the magical contract we managed to wangle in our favour. Unfortunately people believe this and somehow think that GP is underfunded because we take all the cash. Why doesn't this letter make it to the Daily Hate Mail? Because the press only wants to confirm peoples prejudices and in this case its hatred/jealousy of the perceived rich doctor taking all their taxes and spending it on golf clubs despite not doing any work.

  • I have been writing monthly letters to Jeremy Hunt and MP like this since May 2013. My letters have had no impact. GPs are being hunted to extinction. It is every GP for themselves. It is an international market - so flee if you can. No-one is going to save general practice - it's collapsing.

  • If I was a young GP, fleeing to greener pastures is exactly what I would do too. Yes, I would grab a flight out at the earliest opportunity. Better to jump now than be pushed under later.
