Zostavax back in stock but practices limited to 20 per order

The shingles vaccine Zostavax is back in stock and GPs in England, Scotland and Wales are being invited to place orders – although English practices will be limited to 20 doses per order.

A delay in the manufacturing process forced Public Health England to limit practices to five doses per practice in October. But supplies ran out because – according to PHE – some practices submitted multiple orders.

Scottish and Welsh practices are being advised to refer to local Health Protection teams for guidance on the number of doses that can be ordered,

  • I am approaching 70 and my Medical Practice say they have no stock of Zostavax and no idea when they will have any. They suggest I try elsewhere privately. Anybody have a clue where one can go for the Zostavax vaccination?
