We must push for more osteoporosis scanning

Dr Helen Parry has criticised a GPC and NHS Employers decision to put off major changes to the Carr-Hill formula until 2007 at the earliest.

Dr Parry, a GP in Sunderland, said ethnicity needed to be a factor.

Her practice has a significant number of non-English speaking Bangladeshi patients, many of whom have diabetes. 'It definitely has an effect,' she said. 'I run our diabetes clinic and it takes a lot of my time.'
