We need Choose and Book guarantees

Offering dummy appointments is a widespread practice used particularly by hospitals in Nottinghamshire.

A patient of mine is in the throes of litigation against one hospital after taking a day off to attend a ghost appointment. There should minbe no way a patient can misunderstand a letter from the hospital.

It is time to refuse to play the game with Choose and Book and demand that one referral guarantees a complete course of treatment, not - as many hospitals think - one appointment and then another letter from your GP for the next stage of treatment.
