We're being blackmailed over out-of-hours care

Dr Malcolm Willis says his practice is being 'ethically blackmailed' by its PCT to continue Saturday surgeries for no extra cash.

His practice in Norwich is spending £5,000 to cover a three-month gap before Southern Norfolk PCT takes over out-of-hours in July. The trust turned down his requests for it to pay for the sessions as a temporary enhanced service.

'We are being penalised for caring about the community we serve,' Dr Willis said.
