GPs go forth

Who's he to tell us what to charge?

With regard to solicitor requests for access to medical records (Letters, December 1), it irritates me that Dr Ian MacGregor basically says we do not deserve to get more than £50 for returning notes.

This service is not in our contract, it has nothing whatsoever to do with our core work and in effect we can charge what we like.

I am sure he makes a nice living out of what he does; what right does he have to spout such hypocrisy in denying us that too?
