GPs go forth

Why buying in is still a GP's best investment

'I am sad that it has to fall on Pulse to set out the things GPs should be lobbying their MPs about. Where are our leaders local and national? Pension rights are a big issue for me. I want to see the anomaly sorted out between widows and widowers of GPs as it is blatant sex discrimination.'

Dr Abayomi McEwen, Buckhurst Hill, Essex

'I support the Pulse campaign because GPs are at the heart of care of those with long-term conditions. Practices are shortly to announce amazing quality framework results which show we are excellent at caring for people

with chronic conditions.'

Dr Helena McKeown, Salisbury, Wiltshire

'Morale is so low at the moment because the Shipman Inquiry has shattered faith in doctors. Why can't they allow GPs to use their clinical judgment to work in the way they think is right?'

Dr Suraj Sharma, Liverpool

'I absolutely agree with ''No work without pay'' and I think LIFT is fraught with problems it's an attempt to borrow money without it going on the public accounts.'

Dr John Ashcroft, Ilkeston, Derbyshire
