Why male GPs do not deserve to be in dock

Dr Brian Keighley defends the GMC using the specious argument that if everyone is dissatisfied then it must be doing a good job (News, November 8). As a member he is hardly in the most objective position to make such a judgment.

If he is so confident, one wonders why the GMC felt it necessary to spend more than £1 million of doctors' money defending itself at the Shipman Inquiry.

He has obviously never been subject to its random justice and haphazard procedures.

These have frequently been described in detail by this and other publications by those who have suffered them.
