At the heart of general practice since 1960

Why our relationships with nurses are struggling

Most practices will not have to work harder to achieve new targets in the revised quality framework, GPC negotiators have indicated.

Dr Laurence Buckman, GPC deputy chair and co-chair of the QOF review group, said GPs were already doing the work needed to get points in the second version of the framework.

'Practices will notice that things are the same as before or near identical,' he said.

'They won't need a lot of explanation, these are things that practices may already do or could easily be doing.'

He added that the deadline for new evidence had passed, but future reviews of the framework would consider evidence already submitted but rejected this time around.

The second version of the QOF will be revealed before the end of the year.
