With per-partner current account balances around £30,000 this year we can only afford to distribute about £12,000 per partner. What can we do?

Each year when we get our partnership accounts the amount shown as ‘partners' current account balances' seems to grow. We try to make distributions to partners once or twice a year based on any cash left, but these are rarely anywhere near the current account balances.

This year, the per-partner current account balances were around £30,000. Our cash-flow forecast tells us we can only afford to distribute about £12,000 per partner. What can we do?
