Yes Ma'am, and it was my care that got her to 100!

One of my patients received a telegram from the Queen on her 100th birthday. This made me think perhaps a

thank-you telegram/letter to the GP and staff congratulating them on the hard work that made this possible would have been nice.

We all do a pretty good job, despite recent targets, millstones, paperwork and increased expectations ­ often with insufficient resources.

The politicians have got it all wrong. We primary care physicians are not always after money ­ a little appreciation goes far beyond that.
