15 – Dr Vivienne Nathanson

Dr Vivienne Nathanson is head of science and ethics at the BMA, and has long overseen the association's guidance on a wide range of ethical issues.

Most recently, however, she hit the headlines after co-signing a letter to health minister Simon Burns expressing concern that the wording of the health bill as it stands could mean third parties were given access to confidential patient information for ‘unspecified health purposes'.
