Professor Kamlesh Khunti is professor of diabetes and cardiovascular medicine at the University of Leicester, a GP in the city and an expert on the primary care diagnosis of diabetes.

Professor Kamlesh Khunti is professor of diabetes and cardiovascular medicine at the University of Leicester, a GP in the city and an expert on the primary care diagnosis of diabetes.

He recently helped the RCGP develop an online audit tool to allow GP practices identify the one diabetes patient in every 20 his work showed is misdiagnosed with the condition.

He also works as an adviser to the DH on its flagship vascular screening programme.
