CCP Recommendation of remedies report

The Cooperation and Competition panel, the NHS's competition watchdog, has made a recommendation to Andrew Lansley that the RCGP or NHS Commissioning Community appoint doctors to an independent panel that will be charged with reviewing a key case at the centre of a conflict of interest row. The panel will be asked to review NHS Peterborough's proposals to close a local Darzi centre after the CCP ruled that the PCT had fallen foul of conflict of interest rules by involving GP commissioners in the decision – on the grounds that their practices could stand to benefit from the closure decision.
