Family Doctor Association

The Family Doctor Association is a national organisation of over 1,000 GP practices. It aims to promote the importance of continuity of relationship in family medicine and to encourage, assist, and motivate fellow GP practices, the Department of Health and health leaders to recognise its importance in the delivery of primary health care.

An educational charity, the association has represented grass roots GPs nationally and locally for over 25 years. It is one of the recognised ‘big five' GP organisations along with the National Association of Primary Care www.napc.co.uk, the NHS Alliance www.nhsalliance.org, the BMA  and the RCGP www.rcgp.org.uk  and sees itself politically as a ‘critical friend' to the BMAand RCGP.
