In drawing up the Power 50 list, Pulse compiled more than 600 nominations from a panel of the leaders of the profession and more than 100 readers of Pulse who submitted their ideas online.
Our panel included former RCGP chair and NHS England adviser Professor Clare Gerada, NHS Alliance chair Dr Michael Dixon, longstanding GPC member Dr Nigel Watson and GPC Wales chair Dr Charlotte Jones. Each nominated up to five influential GPs, two up-and-coming GPs, two influential non-GPs and two GPs for our new ‘local heroes’ category.
From these nominations Pulse formulated our final list, which we believe reflects the breadth and depth of the profession.
