NEW ENTRY

A member of GMC Council and a GP in Swansea, Professor Malcolm Lewis is described by our panel as a figure with a ‘huge influence' on the direction of appraisal and revalidation in the UK.

Described as ‘a role model for many and politically astute', he was largely an unknown figure to grassroots GPs until he stepped into the bear pit at this year's LMCs conference in Liverpool to speak about revalidation.

But he ruffled some feathers with his comments that disagreements over remediation ‘shouldn't be a delaying factor' for revalidation, which prompted one GP to accuse the GMC of ‘shocking complacency'.
