Colleagues said the ‘dynamic’ Hertfordshire and Hoddesdon representative, who works as a salaried GP, was ‘an inspiration nationally and locally’.

They also said the ‘rising voice of reason’ was ‘not afraid to speak out, eloquently, on issues that matter to GPs’; and that she was ‘massively intelligent and eloquent, with a deep understanding of the pressures faced by GPs everywhere’.

LMC secretary for Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster and BMA Council member, her work has been dominated by the PMS contract review, which saw £14m worth of annually recurrent premiums redistributed across north-west London.

Dr Bramall-Stainer is also ‘proud’ that her LMC role allowed her to support ‘so many of our member practices and practitioners in the wake of the appalling Grenfell Tower disaster’. She says: ‘It may have disappeared from the headlines, but these practice teams are still living with the reality and fallout of this devastation and will be for many months and years to come.’

She also adds that ‘Pulse was instrumental in helping me support GPs on the ground by applying media pressure to MDOs to provide inclusive cover’.

She reckons that friends would describe her as ‘generous’, a ‘woman of integrity’ (who has some ‘killer karaoke skills’ and is a ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race maven’. She says she is ‘driven by good grammar, attention to detail and synth pop’ and devoted to her two sons, aged two and four.
