Pension plans will set a precedent

If, as now seems likely, the Government will get away with its changes to the NHS pension with minimal resistance, there is no doubt that it will do it again and again (‘Next generation of GPs hardest hit by pensions hike, BMA warns').

I can hear its rhetoric now: ‘Doctors have a privileged position and a far better pension than those who work in the private sector. This is still a wonderful pension package.'

I retired early last year and have only just started again as a locum to take advantage of the coming recruitment crisis.
