Pulse scoops six PPA award nominations

Pulse has been shortlisted for six awards by the Professional Publishers Association (PPA), making it one of the most nominated publications for this year's awards.

Pulsetoday.co.uk and Pulse-Learning.co.uk have both been nominated for Digital Product of the Year (Business Media) and Pulse has been nomited for Business Media Brand of the Year and Business Magazine of the Year.

Pulse editor Richard Hoey is nominated for Editor of the Year (Business Media), while Phil Peverley is nominated for Columnist of the Year.

Emma Penny, editor of Pulse's sister title at Briefing Media, Farmers Guardian, was also nominated for Editor of the Year (Business Media).

The nominations come after a recent run of award nominations and wins for Pulse. Pulse's deputy editor, Steve Nowottny, was nominated for the Periodical Training Council's New Talent Awards in the New Section Editor of the Year category, in February and Pulse senior reporter, Gareth Iacobucci, won this year's Medical Journalists' Association Investigative Scoop award.

The nominations mark a run of 22 major award nominations and three wins for Pulse since 2010 including the WorkWorld Journalist to Watch award for Gareth Iacobucci last year.

At the 2011 MJA Summer Awards Pulse's Adam Legge won Health Editor of the Year and PulseToday won the silver prize in the best website category at the international TABPI awards this month.
