Independents' Day

All we can do is support you – tell us how

Editor’s blog

It feels a little like the relative calm before the hurricane. You are probably inundated with concerned patients unclear why they are ‘shielded’, or why they haven’t yet received a letter telling them they are shielded.

You’re probably bracing yourself for the deluge of prematurely discharged hospital patients secondary care will be sending your way that need specialist knowledge and intensive input.

You're getting used to doing most of your consultations remotely.

And you are probably getting information overload from hundreds of different sources.

You’re probably bracing yourself for the deluge

What we at Pulse can do is help you with this information overload. Firstly, with our reporting.

But, in these times, maybe even more useful is our A-Z list of resources on a single page. We will keep this updated but we also want to add to it. Please let us know if there are resources you want to add: editor@pulsetoday.co.uk.

And once again, good luck.

  • IF I END UP ON HIGH FLOW OXYGEN IN HOSPITAL I WOULD LIKE TO GO ON LIVE TELEVISION TO ASK HAN-COCK WHY HE FEELS IT IS OK TO RISK MEDICS LIVES WITH INADEQUATE PPE.
THE CAMERA COULD ZOOM IN ON HIS CRINGING FACE AND SWEATY FACE.....

EMIS quick codes are really helpful
Perhaps someone could create a standard set
    eg..
    \cov
    Covid phone consult
No traval / No ill contacts / No known covid contacts

SUPERMARKET having a standard NHS STAFF Priority opening is ok but that may be difficult for nhs staff to get to aswell
It would be good if they kept a back section few shelves reserved for all times
only for say elderly and nhs staff
    key things
bread milk eggs pasta loo roll cans etc
these are the shelves that empty fast

I suspect companies exporting abroad or fixed contracts to supply abroad has caused national shortages.. OF PPE
3M seems to make the masks ffp3
give them a blank chequa to make as many as possible
Not sure who makes the tests
    same with them

Matt needs to be honest with the NHS
If he's been put into a difficult situation due to budget contraints or higher powers then
he could flag the external difficulties and
save face by resigning as a whistle blower
    similar to Sajed Javed
... if he is just being slow and incompetent then that's not acceptable
    distribution problems have been cited
    come on
    emergency legislation
commandeer a big haulage company like Stobart group and get the kit delivered
why not use Amazon prime ??

If the kit was available say at B+Q
    with Key worker priority
sure many would buy their own

key worker children are still allowed to go to school ... but what does this mean
I suspect not full usual syllabus
    ?? just glorified baby sitting
may as well keep at home if lucky to have friends family at home
