Am I the only GP who would like a certificate on revalidation? I asked the GMC and was told there wouldn’t be one.
I replied, stating that it was not expensive and would increase public confidence in GPs and the revalidation process. The GMC responded that ‘revalidation is not essentially a point-in-time assessment’ and ‘a certificate would be of limited usefulness as time went on’.
I think we all know what a certificate represents and I still think we should have one.
