    Good luck Dr Norris and thank you for speaking up for front line GPs all over the uk.

    Sadly I expect the following;

    1. You will be demonised by the press (left and right)
    2. We (GPs) will be demonised by the press as per usual - this has already started - see Daily Mail articles on BMA ruling
    3. You and by defintion 'us' will have no support from the BMA leadership, RCGP,other royal colleges, GMC, CQC etc etc as they are all in it together. The hope will be that we forget about this with time or things can be kicked into the long term. I expect no actual action.

    look at it this way we have the same faces representing us for many years with fantastic rousing 'enough is enough' speeches but in the last several years - have things got better or worse ? yet, the same people will be voted in and there will be no progress as we don't want to rock the boat.

    so i suspect this will just be viewed as venting with business as usual.

    those who are truly fed up will leave and in any case there is an inexhaustable supply of youngsters wanting to be doctors so our leadership really couldn't give a ****

  • Well done Zoe
    If we keep going nothing will change except out morale ....
    Neither the establishments, public opinion or regulators actually worry about us
    The only way to get them to notice is do what Zoe is doing
    Wish you had more BMA support though
    Enough pussyfooting by BMA
