The Epworth sleepiness score

If you suspect that a patient is suffering from sleep apnoea, the easiest thing is to assess them using the Epworth sleepiness score (ESS). This is a series of questions to assess how tired someone feels and generally a score above 10 is indicative of the need for further investigation and also a sleep study.
