Nearly 200 NHS workers have now died with Covid-19

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has revealed that 181 NHS workers have now died with Covid-19 in the UK, along with 131 victims who worked in social care.

As Pulse has reported, this includes at least 11 GPs, all based in England, with Essex particularly badly affected.

The Government’s official total death toll now stands at 36,042, following today’s publication, including 338 new daily deaths.

Speaking in yesterday’s Prime Minister’s Questions, Mr Johnson said: ‘One hundred and eighty-one NHS and 131 social care workers’ deaths have sadly been reported involving covid-19.

‘I know that the thoughts of the whole House are with their families and friends.’

This week, Pulse reported on the death of Dr Mohinder Singh Dhatt, from Slough in Berkshire, who died with Covid-19 after 54 years of serving the NHS.
