I was interested to read a letter from Dr John Havard in a recent edition of Pulse.
He quoted survey results from over 90% of RCGP members who said they disapproved of the health bill legislation. If anyone watched Question Time last Thursday, they'll know that one of the panellists quoted the same figure. Panel chair David Dimbleby replied that he had seen the figures too, but that the 90% figure represented just 2,600 GPs voting out of over 44,000 members.
Compare this with figures from the Family Doctor Association, which found that 90% of GPs were interested in commissioning.
PCTs have now disappeared and we can't go back on the preparations to reform the NHS.
It's time to stop heckling the health ministers and support clinically led commissioning, which has gone far too far to turn back on.
